When are you open?

We are open every day of the year apart from Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. We recommend that you take three or four hours over your visit to appreciate the Museum exhibits, the aircraft and vehicle displays that make up this historically accurate RAF Bomber Base.

We are currently in summer mode and so the museum opening times are 10:00-17:00, last admission 16:00.

Before visiting the museum and especially during bad weather, we strongly advise you to check our website and social media channels, to make sure the site is open for visitors. There will be regular updates on these platforms.

  • OPEN BANK HOLIDAYS AND EASTER HOLIDAY.
  • Closed: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
  • Summer: 10:00am -17:00pm
  • Winter: 10:00am – 16:00pm
  • Please note: Last Admission 1 hour prior to closing.
  • Please allow 3-4 hours or longer to get the most out of your visit.
How Accessible are you?

Our Accessibility Statement aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer to all our visitors.

Disabled Access

We have a disabled visitors book on the ground floor of the Control Tower which provides an idea of the layout and the offices located up there.

The site is largely flat, with level access to the exhibition rooms, aircraft hangars and the catering and toilet facilities. The only part inaccessible is the second storey of the wartime Control Tower (an illustration can be seen in the visitor Guidebook). Discounted entry for Care Groups is available (see Group Booking Form).

Are you dog friendly?

Dogs are always welcome, we simply ask that they be kept on a lead. Drinking water is provided. Restricted areas are the canteen, Shop and Astra Cinema.

We welcome guide dogs on a lead as well which are allowed in to the shop cinema and restaurant.
